Invitations

Did you know that there are rules for invitation formats?
Indeed there are.

Depending on who is paying for the wedding determines whose names appear on the invitations.
If the bride and groom are paying for the wedding mainly on their own, you would want the heading portion of the invite to state:

Along with their parents
Jane Doe Clark
and
Joe Dean Smith
request the pleasure of your company...blah blah blah.

If the parents are paying for the wedding
the wedding invite heading would state:

Mr and Mrs. Jack Clark
and
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Smith
request the please of your presence at the marriage of
Jane Doe Clark
and
Joe Dean Smith
blah blah blah.

Its actually amazing how many rules and options there are.

Recently, a couple I am working with decided to make their own invitations. I am always 100% on board for this. I think first off because I naturally have a creative side and there is just something about putting your own touch on something like that. And also, it can be very cost saving.

I will post their final result of the invitations soon. They are beautiful and perfectly represent the type (and colors) of wedding they are having. I am proud of the work they put into the invites and that they accomplished them on time! A huge project completed! So good.

If you ever have any questions on invitation etiquette, please let me know!
